Manny Pacquiao

I met Manny once.

He was a guest of one of the town mayors (an acquaintance of mine)and they were in this bar where we were also at. This was a year after he defeated Lebdawa (?) and I was already a big fan. He wasn't that famous internationally yet -- although, people from the streets easily recognized him.

Me and my buds just came from the bar across the street and I was piss drunk, but I remember what happened. I shook the man's hand, immediately sizing him up, since he wasn't that big in person (he hadn't climbed weight class yet). We also talked about the Lebdawa fight.

He just smiled and mumbled some thanks.

The story could go on, since manny was brought to the other hangouts in the city. Thing is I was drunk and I wanted to go home. So, I went. Leaving the others with the pacman.

Funny how when you're drunk all you want to do is go home, even if it means leaving the pacman behind.

Oh, in case you were wondering what he was drinking: iced tea.

Still, I met and talked with the pacman. :)

Real-life mutant

Thu May 8, 2008, 4:05 AM
After much investigating with the platypus's DNA strands, scientists just found out whether the kooky creature was bird, mammal or fowl -- it was actually a mixture of the three.

"The egg-laying critter is a genetic potpourri -- part bird, part reptile and part lactating mammal," the yahoo.com news says. [link]

Is a mutant then. It also has this neat power: Magnetic Field Detection. Something like DD's radar sense only the platypus uses magnetic fields given off by living things. (It's in the report. Really. I'm a geek. XD)

Imagine that.

He doesn't use it to fight crime though. He uses it to catch fish with his eyes closed.

It's an ugly thing though. Just goes to show us not all mutants are White Queens. Some are just, well, genetic potpourri.

No winners

Fri Apr 25, 2008, 2:57 AM
So there are no current winners for the Sorta Contest since there seems to be no entries. There were people who said they we're joining but they didn't or couldn't.

Well it's my fault not theirs. Mental note to self: Make prizes more enticing.

Can't say anything else about that anymore.

Not for a while at least.

....

Crap. Don't you just hate it when something doesn't go according to plan? It feels uncomfortable, just like that sudden awkward silence when you walk into a room full of people who stop talking as soon as you step in the room.

And to change the topic:

I'll post some soon.

Sorta Contests

Sat Feb 23, 2008, 5:34 AM
After 15 years, I'm trying to jumpstart my drawing skills again. I'd like to learn how to color as well, but seeing as how busy my schedule is, I don't think that would be achievable in the near future.

But I am hankering to see my stuff colored. So, I'm proposing this Sorta Contest. I put some pencils up in DA and you guys can color them. In return I do some lineart for the best colors, too. I'll get the top three. (I can use all the practical application I can get) Any solo biped you request (no animals for the moment, but you can request me, and we can see what we can agree on). The background of the prize depends on the BG of the colored entry.

So here's the details of the Sorta Contest.
1. Anyone can enter.
2. Each entry, gets a fave. You can fave the lineart, but you don't have to.
3. Each lineart Sorta runs for a month (30 days, unless changed. Shellhead ends on March 29)
4. You have to link my lineart when you upload your entry.

Prizes.
1. An agreed upon lineart (a biped will always get you a yes).
2. A journal feature. (for the first prize)
3. I know it isn't much, but I promise to put my heart and attention when doing the above prizes.
4. After five years, when I get real real good. I'll do another lineart (biped still, with maybe a bit of BG) for the winners of each Sorta.
